SOLUTION
Firstly, inspect the brush and commutator for any dirt. If dirt is found, promptly clean it to prevent the accumulation of debris, which can lead to poor contact. Next, examine the commutator nut’s center for any protrusions. If the surface is uneven, use sandpaper to flatten it. Otherwise, it may impede the sliding motion between the commutator and brush, causing friction sparks. Proceed to check the brush holder for proper adjustment. Incorrect adjustment can result in excessive brush pressure and friction. Adjust the brush holder to ensure the appropriate brush pressure.
Finally, inspect the brush box for any looseness. If the brush box assembly is not in line with specifications, adjust the brush position or reinforce the brush box. During a general brush overhaul, the main causes of sparking are often dirt between the brush and commutator, poor contact, and discharge. Pay careful attention to these areas during inspection.
To increase the vacuum air pressure of the motor, consider reducing the motor’s bore diameter within a reasonable range and addressing other details such as minimizing the motor’s airflow.
