Our customer designs and builds automatic door systems for Russian office buildings, hospitals, shopping centers and transport hubs — environments with frequent start-stop cycles and wide seasonal temperature swings. Reliable, intelligent motion control is core to the product’s safety and user experience. Drives for gates and doors are governed specifically by IEC 60335-2-103.
The customer needed a drive that combined smooth acceleration, quiet operation and long service life, with a controller capable of precise speed and position control. Legacy AC or brushed solutions fell short on efficiency, noise and cold-climate stability, pushing the customer toward an integrated brushless motor + controller platform. In Europe the same product family is judged for safety in use against EN 16005; in North America, against UL 325.

The integrated controller lets the customer tune parameters — soft start, soft stop, torque limitation and obstacle detection — enhancing user safety and comfort while cutting mechanical stress on the door system. Brushless construction consumes less power and generates less heat than AC or brushed alternatives, and the robust design holds performance through cold Russian winters. Compact, modular integration simplifies installation in both new builds and upgrades. Where the controller carries a safety function — obstacle detection, torque limitation — the required integrity is set by ISO 13849-1 performance levels.
